Talking about spending time together in the real sense, it is rare that people actually spend quality time with each other of late. What we do is be in our phones all the time, either on call, messages or some or the other social networking site.

Gone are the days when kids used to come out and play. Today even the kids prefer being with their play stations and tablets. Spending hours on the internet, chatting with friends all the time and not being able to go out in the real sense is what is happening lately.

We all have become so addicted to our phones and that the first thing most of us would be doing as we get up is probably check it. Remember the times when people used to get up, pray and probably sot in complete serene. Well too me all this seems like some hundred years old take now. Everyone these days is only glued to the virtual world. Be it spending hours in front of the internet either for searching some date or simply just to connect with friends.

We have become so addicted to this virtual or superficial world as we could call it that all we actually do is keep posting and updating our statuses all the time just so that the world knows that we too are social. Where has that privacy gone? Why doesn’t anybody find the need to become more private and keep their personal life to themselves and not make it public like that?

Not just that but it is rare that you see people spending time with each other without any disturbance of their phones or the virtual world. Real togetherness, in my opinion is lost while trying to bond virtually.

Real togetherness can be found when you spend some quality time with your friends, your family or your loved ones. Something that would probably be close to the nature. Like say going on a trip to some wildlife sanctuary where one can witness the wildlife and be as close to the nature as possible.

This is a very good of way bonding as well.

Other ways of being together in the real sense can be just sitting in complete serene by the sea side. It is so much more peaceful and calming than all the noise and happenings of the virtual world. This is my opinion is the best way in which someone can spend time with the ones they love the most. It is so much better than messaging or calling them. No doubt these mediums help us to stay connected but the personal connections or the bonds that are made when you spend time like this is different. This is something that we should nurture as this is real togetherness.

It is indeed amazing to have a company with you. It makes thing work better and much wiser. It not only reduces the work but also there is an exchange of thoughts, creativity and lots more. This time I had a chance to collaborate with my blogger friend for this lovely activity by Garnier called the #TwiceAsNice.

This activity started off by sending us samples of the two products which when used together would make our skin twice as nice. The idea was of writing up an article in collaboration with a friend for the very same reason – it would be twice as nice in this case.

The power of two is really great. It actually is a lot of fun to do things in a team than doing them alone. There is exchange of ideas which will help both the people to prosper equally. The power of two is such that it makes anything twice as nice.

Healthy Breakfast

Breakfast is one of the most important meal of the day. In fact
the very first meal of the day. We start our day with eating breakfast and then
move on to start the day. A good and healthy breakfast gives my day a good
start and hence it is considered to be the most important meal of the day. I as
a person am extremely punctual and particular about my food and diet. Given the
stress and anxiety levels these days, I simply do not compromise on my daily
diet and the first part of my daily diet comprises of a good and healthy
breakfast. I generally prefer to start off my day early, as I am an early person
and more so a morning person, and then in the latter half of the day, I prefer
spending quality time with my family and friends. And so with getting up early
in the morning comes great responsibility to ensure that I have a good and
filling breakfast to keep me moving all day long.

I have a sweet tooth and hence I always prefer to add some
sweet to my meals, be it my early morning breakfast or lunch, I prefer taking
something sweet, as my craving for sweet just does not seem to be in control
and with all guilt I consume some sweets, although I do ensure I take minimal
quantity with the fear of putting on those extra kilos. Now to specify my early
morning breakfast, let me tell you I prefer having a good healthy meal at the
same time I avoid taking too heavy meals, which have oil and butter. I prefer
to keep it simple yet healthy and filling. All thanks to Kellogg’s I can live
up to this healthy regime of mine, because Kellogg’s takes care of the fact
that our early morning meal is nutritious and at the same time good enough in
all nutrients to keep us on the go all day.

in my bill and also because it has all the required ingredients that I love the

FAMILY

When anybody asks what makes me the happiest or what is that one thing that brings immense joy and contentment, I had a lot of things to write about and share, but the one closest to me is definitely happiness of my family.

My family means everything to me. It is the reason of my happiness. It very well is also the reason of my existence. I can say that whatever I am today is all because of the love and the support of my family. Thus is there is anything that makes me happy it definitely has to be the happiness of my family. My family has my mother, my father and my sisters.

Little joys of the family and those simple moments of joy also bring happiness to me. Like simply celebrating birthdays with family, celebrating festivals with them, etc bring a lot of joy and contentment.

Just the other day we got the news that my sister was selected in her campus placements and she had got a posting in Pune. We were all very happy for her. Although none of us in the family wanted to part from her but we very well did understand what that posting meant to her. We understood that the posting was an important turning point in her career and she shouldn’t let it go for our sake. We also saw how happy she was with this and thus with a heavy heart but a heart full of hope, we let her go.

This I think is the most important, although however attached we may be to any person we shall let them choose the best for themselves. We must never let our attachment or our love come in way of their happiness. Because our love is ultimately judged my whether or not we were happy in their happiness and when we find happiness in others happiness, this is when we can say that it is true love.

Thus I can say with a lot of pride today that my love for my family is very true. I find happiness in their happiness. If they are happy, I am happy and their sorrows bring grief and pain. Well not to mistake this with over attachment or possessiveness, had that been the case I wouldn’t let my sister take up the job far away from home.  Love is when you’re happy in others happiness. My family’s happiness means a lot to me and to quite an extent I can do anything that it takes to see them happy because they mean a lot to me. They are my guide, my mentor, my motivation and it wouldn’t be an overstatement if I called them the reason for my existence.

I love my family and it is my family’s happiness that makes me the most happy.

Optimism is the ultimate thing. It is very important in life to be positive and to have a very positive outlook toward life. It takes nothing away to be all positive and optimistic but being a pessimist takes away the opportunity of succeeding. Well if one doesn’t try, how would even know whether within their potential or not. It is only an optimist who takes chances in life and who embarks upon new endeavors.

In today’s world positivity is very hard to find. Our world is filled with people who are constantly looking down at you and making you feel worse about yourself. When you are in sorrow instead of condolence, people these days add up to the worries. This is the world today.

But when we have friends in the form of a pet like mine, world seems easier. A better place to live in. A dog is a man’s best friend. It is with the help of this pet of mine that I have actually started to live a happier and an optimistic life. I earlier hated dogs, I was afraid of their very sight. It was until my parents gifted me a puppy on my birthday. I hated that as a birthday present but she said that I would soon fall in love with it. Well yes, I did. I am in love with my pet, Tommy. I never imagined myself loving a pet so much but today Tommy is my everything.

I have seen little Tommy become a big doggy. I have lived with him. My parents were both working and I used to have absolutely nobody to be with but Tommy. Every time I came home, Tommy used to come to me wagging his tail and licking my feet. He still does.

He is my best friend. I always missed having a sibling, I found one in Tommy. Tommy is my brother, my best friend and also my motivation. He is the reason why I am happy, he can bring a smile on my face every time I am sad. I remember coming home late once, my parents had both slept but Tommy waited till I returned. This is a routine actually he never sleeps until I return and doesn’t even eat without me.

He is the reason of my joy. He motivates me with his hug. He motivates me by his wag of tail.

It is from him that I have learnt the real joys of life. It is from him that I have learnt that life is not materialistic. Life is not about only giving and expecting in return but there is a lot more to life. #together with Tommy I am optimistic. Together with him I am all positive and together with him I am happy.

What does it take to start a new? What does it take to move away, to make your own space? Well, what I realized is that it takes a lot of courage. A firm mind and also a heavy heart. It wasn’t easy for nor for him but it was our love that made it possible. It was our love of course that made us what we are today. Had it not been for love, we would have never been able to take such a bold move.

So although we all say that we are today’s youth and we have moved on to the 21^st century, we have the right to decide what we want to do and all of that but how difficult it actually is to preach all any of that? It takes absolutely nothing to say all of that but it takes a lot of courage to do what you actually want. This is because we live in a society that has such strict norms. If it’s their way, the stereo typical way then its right anything else that you do apart from the rigid ways or norms of living it is considered to be incorrect or inappropriate. I ask why?

Why do we live in a society that just cannot adapt changes? Why is the constitution of marriage so strict? Why it is that people cannot get this right that marriages are to be for a lifetime, unless of course you are forced to marry someone you don’t like and then divorce. It is as simple as that you should marry someone whom you love, how does the religion or the caste and creed even matter? How does it matter if I am a Hindu and the person I love is a Catholic. Don’t we have the same blood running through our bodies? Aren’t we both children of the same lord? Why do we only confine our learnings of the Bhagwat Gita and Bible to the books alone? Why don’t we grow up?

Well I refused to accept this norm of the society? I broke through those stereo typical types who would do what the society wants me to at the stake of my love. I decided to marry someone I love and not someone who I didn’t even know before this only because my family wanted me to. No I am not against arrange marriages, I am against marriages that are forced. Thanks to my love who had what it takes to stand against the world and fight those rigid norms of the society and marry me, his love.

We got married in the court because our families wouldn’t agree to our love. They wanted to go the society way, we wanted our love to stay. We today live happily ever after. This is how I started my new life with my love. Thanks for all the support and all the love J

Today I relate to this even more because I have brought up three children. When I used to see my little ones dance and sing around, I used to be very happy. Well even now when I see my kids have fun and enjoy, it brings me the same amount of happiness and pleasure.

I distinctly remember my kids dancing in the rain and making paper boats and have the best times of their lives. I miss the young me and the young them. When the kids are young, their joys are different. Their charm is different, they find joy in little things. They makes such sweet and silly memories that are cherished for the life time. Well besides all of this, there are so many things that have to be taken care of when the kids are young. I am talking with experience here. Like for example little things like whether or not the baby has had eaten well or not, whether or not the baby has a good night sleep or not and most importantly whether or not his diapers are dry. The last one being the most important, the reason being if a baby‘s diaper is not dry it would affect the baby’s sleep and this could even have an effect on their health. No mother can stand their child to be sad and poor health of a child is something no mother can bear.

Positive Outlook

Optimism isn’t it very important and very powerful? Indeed it is. For me personally it is that daily dose that I require to live on this place called earth. We humans are all different. We have different needs and perform different deeds. For it’s said by great legends think positive and be positive and I truly abide by it. Not just because it is said by great legends but by people around but because this is something I truly believe in. I am by nature a very optimistic and a positive thinker.

So one example that comes to my mind every time anybody mentions optimism or positivity is that half glass empty example. It is not what it is, it is how you see it. It is the attitude of a person that defines him and who he really is. It is amazing how the same thing can be interpreted differently by different people. Like in the case of the glass, how some thought it was half empty while the optimists saw it differently and said that it is not half empty but it is half full. Well this is life and it is we who have to choose our way of living. If we choose to live with negativity and pessimism we would end up being dull and making our own life hell. Why not take rather live life to the fullest and be positive?

Well, I have always been optimistic. I am often teased by friends for this, they call it being in a dream world but I do not agree. I don’t think optimism means being in your own world but it is rather being in a world that is nice, that is positive, that is a better world for you and for me and for the entire human race.

There is one particular incident that I was very touched with and this in the true sense gave me a different outlook to the entire world. It is when I and my mother decided to have a visit to the blind school that I learnt the true meaning of optimism. My mother always insisted me to join her for her visit to the blind school she said that there was a lot to learn from them but I never took that’s seriously. But after the visit my thoughts changed, I was very touched by the way in which they worked. It was a blind school for women, they were all so disciplined. They even worked on sewing machines. They made clothes, rags, etc. I was amazed. That is when I saw a lady who was just about to bang into the wall, I ran to help her but I was stopped. I was told that I am not going to be here to help them every day only if they fall today will they learn about this hurdle on the way.

That is when I learnt that life can teach you a lot and it is we who have to learn from it. If they (the blind) can lead such a disciplined life, if they can work, if they can get up each time they fall; we too can. I learnt the true meaning of optimism from them!

There is always this one person in your life, who is your
mentor your guide and your life support. Yes this is true, no matter how much
you deny this, but there has always been this one person who has helped you be
where you are today or accomplish your goals. No matter who it is, your father,
your brother, your mother, your sister, your husband, your aunt or uncle, it
can be anyone. This is one person who has made you self-reliant.

Today when I got this opportunity to acknowledge that one
person in my life, I immediately decided to grab this one and pen it down
through my writings. Your parents have always been your inspiration and your
guide but for me it has been my husband. He made my self-reliant. I come from a
family where I have always been much pampered and well taken care of. I being
the youngest in the family has always been one of the reason for this.

Well, it was all difficult when I got married as my husband
was very different in his thinking and wanted me to be more independent than
dependent. Even if it meant for the smallest of things, he ensured that I was
not relying on him in any manner and at the same time he made me feel secure as
well. There was a reason to this well because we shifted to another country
altogether, a country which was new to me and to him as well. It wasn’t that
difficult for him as he was used to travelling places more often than me, but
it was a challenge for me. From the very basic of eating to speaking, I felt
challenged. We shifted to Canada and the extreme climate and the basics put me
to test. That is where my husband guided me and put me to the test, I used to
be home alone and had nothing to do. He guided me to start of my making myself
well versed with the basics at least. I got myself enrolled in language classes
the first, and then moved on to discovering the place for my own. I started
travelling alone, by buses, by trains, only to get used to the country and
adapt it in every possible manner. I always knew this that my husband is doing
this for a reason, he wanted to ensure that I can live a life of my own and not
be dependent upon him, for we would soon have a family to raise. And hence I took
this challenge sportingly and went through this tough phase of getting out of
my comfort zone and started exploring things on my own. 

Today I have 2
children, and we have put the same values in them too. I now drive my kids to
places and plan out our weekend outings, for I am no more dependent. I am now a
self-reliant individual, I truly thank my husband for this.

Whether it is a baby or a granny everybody needs to have a good night sleep. One can stay without eating for a day or two but one just cannot do without sleeping. Sleeping although is not compulsory but one very well does understand how important it is.

Often children are very choosey or if not choosey then moody to eat, so making them eat is yet another task for the parent. There are other things also that a Mother does that form a part of the

Also reading a story to their child despite having such a tiring day only so that the child can be happy is something only a Mother can do because Mother’s love is unconditional. See that pimple on her face, oh my god! Thank goodness I have got rid of mine! I am not coming out today, I am unwell! I am down with fever, you guys go ahead! The wedding is too boring, you carry on! From your mother asking you to applying natural homemade remedies to your neighbors telling you to see a dermatologist. This goes on till you are so humiliated and disgusted with your own face that you feel so low in morale and confidence that you decide not to step out of the house. But let me ask you, is this the solution to your problems? The answer is no, these are just temporary remedies you are taking to heal your wound, this problem needs to be treated from within.

Let me share with you my story of pimple days and how I felt then, so it all begun at an age where you want to party and freak out the most, and trust me those are the best days of your life. Yes folks I am referring to the college days- the fun days! Don’t we all want to make the most out of the class bunking’s and the college gatherings. And instantly comes the answer – yes, of course! And in such a situation one cannot entertain the pimples on the face.

And so it was for me, and for one of the most awaited days; the college prom night. It is that one day, which we all eagerly look forward to, because the days in college have a mix of all emotions, from fun to attractions, from loving to play. And so it was with me, I was quite excited about the prom night and more so, because I was going out with a guy, who was my crush then and had asked me out for the prom night to be his partner.

I remember, the morning, a chilly December day and there I was in the washroom staring blankly at my pimple, which had come without any invitation and gave no intimation. I was in tears, because I did not want that my crush noticed a big ugly, and red pimple on my face, and right there on my cheek. I was upset and ran to my mother for help, she as usual advised to use her home remedies but nothing worked. I knew my day was ruined and that I would not be able to celebrate the night, which I have been longing for, and so I decided to ditch my cute crush, which ultimately resulted in me crushing my own crush for a life time, as he was upset that he was ditched by me at the last moment, but I was so helpless that I could never explain to him the reason was the uninvited guest – pimple. And so, one of my most memorable and fun days in college were missed out on because of my pimples.

Well guys, here is my little story of how pimples have actually made me lose out on all the fun during the best days of my life, how I wish I had a chance to relive those days minus the pimples.

Healthy child makes a happy home

It is very rightly said that a healthy child makes a happy home. It is the child who brings joy, happiness at home. Also a child’s sorrow becomes a matter of concern for the entire family. Having said this a child’s health is utmost for a happy family. In fact not only the child but the health of every single member in the family must be taken care of as it is said that health is wealth. As it’s said that money can buy all the luxuries in life however health cannot be bought by money.

Child’s health matters a lot because those are the growing days of the child. A good immune system now makes for a better and healthy future. A healthy diet with the required nutritions like vitamin, mineral, protein and calcium is a must for every child. This helps the child increase the immunity and in turn strengthen the immune system. A great immune system helps fight al illnesses. It also protects the child from falling sick too often which children are prone to.

I briefly remember when I was young and if ever I fell sick, my mother was the most affected. She used to leave all her chores and come running to me. Not just her but the entire family would stop everything they did only till I got better. A child’s cry and pain brings tears to a mother’s eyes because it is the mother who lives through the child. Child’s laughter brings happiness to the entire family. This is how a healthy child who would be happy and content would make the entire family happy and thus a happy home.

Healthy eating habits not just speak of the child but they also reflect the upbringing of the child and it also reflects the environment that the child is exposed to at home. A healthy living and healthy habits inculcated in a child right from their childhood days not just help children in their young days but also when they grow up to be adults.

I would especially place emphasis here for the girl child as they need that kind of strength and stamina to keep the nature’s cycle moving and experiencing motherhood. What a child learns now i.e. in their young days stays with them forever. They not only practice it themselves but also preach it to probably their peers and take it up their future generations. Hence the good habits of eating healthy and stay healthy and fit passes from one generation to the next.

CHOOSE BETWEEN THE TWO

I remember this happening to me so many times in my life, and excuse me for coming straight to the point, without having any introductions to the topic. Yes, I recollect such situations in my life almost all throughout when I was growing up and I always settled for things that I never wanted to do or be in. I personally believe as a woman you go through this all the more, ever wondered why? And you will be told because you are a girl and that you need to get married soon and have a family of your own. So are you trying to say that you are not my family, who bought me up for the last 20 years? Will you disown me only because our illogical and orthodox society still cannot live with the fact that there is a girl in the neighborhood who is aged 20, and per them it is the perfect age to look for a perfect and uneducated groom. Well, such complex is the society we live in or rather convenient for the men as it is a male dominated one as they say.

Now, coming back to what I am here to pen down my thoughts about, choose between the two. Let me tell you I have been through these situations all my life and in fact still come across them. The only reason why it has reduced, is because I have started taking a stand and I fight for my own right, which begins from your home. So my story goes like saying that I am mid aged woman and a mother of two and live in a family where the mother in law and daughter in law dramas are never ending, yes you got it right, I am part of a joint family and where almost every day is a birthday celebration and yet the next day is a day of confrontation. And so in such a family getting yourself a new dress was also a crime as you cannot afford to live for yourself and be so selfish. (like really, getting yourself a new dress is being selfish??)

Well, it all started with taking initiatives from buying myself a dress to moving on to writing about them, yes you got it write, I am housewife and as I said a mother of two and also a fashion blogger for you. My passion for fashion is like the pani and the puri. They have been there in my blood and I always wanted to be a designer, but blame it on destiny or call it the game of matrimony. I believe it was the latter one , which I was trapped into and life grew on from there till I have my children who are in their mid- teens. I now realized how empty and meaningless my life was and that I never lived for myself, it was always family and the added responsibility and so I decided to change the directions of this wind and got myself a laptop, with the help of magic wind. And here I am today an active blogger who writes not about food and recipes online but about the trending fashion line.

I did not settle for or in my life and gave it a new meaning by adding and instead. I took the courage at this age of starting to believe in myself again and pen it down through my sense of fashion and glamour as you may call it!

Never settle for things in life that don’t give you happiness, because the day you are truly happy your heart knows it from within and you live with that feeling of being content each day you wake up.

THINGS THAT DEFINE ME

Things that define you as a person, are so crucial that they actually remain with you for a lifetime. As a young teenager I always remember my mother asking me to behave in a certain manner, ask her why? And she would instantly reply; because dear daughter you are going to go one day and that women in the society must have certain etiquettes and mannerism.

Honestly it all never made sense to me, especially when I saw my younger sibling, my brother not following any of these, and for some reason it all never applied to him. Ask the lady of the house, and she would instantly reply; because he is a boy. Boy?? I looked at her blankly then, and even now wonder why is it that the discrimination starts in the days of your innocence, why is that somewhere it’s always a woman putting the other woman down. When is this going to stop and when will our mothers ever realize that they contribute and play such a vital role in upliftment of our breed of humans.

Well, things that define me as a person, is one such topic I always thought of writing about, not because I am self-obsessed, but only because I feel the world should know the power of women in the society and that we are far ahead of the male breed in every aspect. I have a justification for this one.

From that eye catchy feature to my loving and caring nature, they say it all! I believe in myself and I think that defines me as a person. I believe in giving and spreading love and I believe that defines me as a person. I am always giving and always welcoming, and I believe that defines me as a person. I believe in letting it go and still having a sense of achievement and I think that defines me as a person.

I believe in giving liberty and yet set some boundaries, and that I think defines me as a person, I know nothing is impossible and hence wake up each day with the thought that I will make it possible. I am that shoulder to cry and yet that shoulder which gives you strength.  

These my dear folks is what I believe defines me and every woman, because you have all been through these stages in your life and which has now made you as they say a woman of substance.

Review of the Electro Lip Balm

i might have been a little late on this one but I thought it was important to give my take on this. So here I am with a review of the Maybelline Baby Lips Electro Lip Balm.

What I like the most?

• It's colorful & nice
• It's got this lovely neon kick
• It's in a very cute black cover

What could be better?

• It's availability could be better. I tried getting this one particular shade "Pink Shock" for over a month. I finally did! Woaahhh Victoryyy is what I felt!

So yes I have tried strike a rose and pink shock as I prefer lip balms in shades of pink and where is my take:

Strike a Rose: The color doesn't show as much. However I like how it is subtle inspite of being neonish. So its a good buy if you're not the neon kind but you probably took it because.. umm everyone is got one of these or you probably liked the packaging.

Pink Shock: Shocking pink, hot and glamorous. I love love this one. as earlier mentioned I had to wait for a mover a month to get it however I must say that it was totally worth the wait.

If you wish to know whether you should buy it or not?

Well I would say, you definitely should if you haven't till now.
